Project 10 - Portraits

This is a commercial portrait. To take it I had Abby stand in a beam of natural light coming in from the window. It is commercial as its composition is pretty basic and functional. There is room for text around the sides and top and it focuses on the person specifically by making the subject brighter than the background.

This photo of Brayden is also intended to be commercial. I had him stand against the wall and look towards the camera, which was angled away. It has commercial aspects in it's simplicity, somewhat high contrast and reasonable saturation. The slight smile would complement an article about Brayden.
This photo of Brayden, however, is fine art. I had him stand against the walls and tried to make him laugh and I caught this amazing photo. I make it fine art by communicating my humorous attitude with Brayden's funny face and and an almost puke-like split toning.

This is another fine art portrait. The composition is pretty simple, I just crouched down a bit and took this photo. Aspects of fine art are found in the the painted look caused by the high contrast with a blended look done in Lightroom. Putting the sweatshirt over his head also expresses my personal feelings.
