Project #8 - Digital Alternative Process
Cyanotype is an alternative photography process in in which one coats paper in Potassium ferricyanide then puts a negative or objects such as plant bits or light permeable objects. When it is put outside in the sun the light the parts of the paper where the Potassium ferricyanide has light shining on it will turn blue while the chemicals on the parts of the paper covered by objects or the black parts of the negative will not react. The unreacted chemicals can be washed off leaving the paper white. The end result is a deep monochromatic blue and has rough edges that fade into the white of the paper.
